Sarah Fisher Helmet
I don't really like putting my stuff out there when I know its not finished and others are working on the same thing. I guess now is as good a time as any to get even a little feedback.
So the idea is that it will have a gradient from from to back in dark pink to light pink, as well as on the top. The large ribbon will eventually look like it is racing forward with a trail of little pink ribbons in its dust. I have an awesome sketch for the back design as well, I might post it later or just wait until I get it done. Now I am just putting my limited illustrator skills to use and trying to make it look as cool as what's in my head.

CGT Block Logo
First the block idea got ditched then the circle idea got ditched...now I am going with a rounded edge block. The blocks for each department will be different colors and the DCT dept logo will be a block with the combination of colors. Also this can be used as a stand alone but I will add the optional descriptive words on the right side to make it a combination logo.
Sketches/Ideas for Design and Communications Logo
As of this point I have decided on going with the 4 round logos and then combining them into one logo for DCT. Similar to the bottom red shaded image on the above sketch sheet.
My original idea was to make 4 block logos that would combine into a 5 block logo and form the DCT logo. This proved harder than I imagined it would be.
I decided the below idea looks to collegiate. Collegiate doesn't really scream technology...it says tradition so I don't feel this is a good fit for what the departments are looking for.

Cherry Blossom Glass Beaded Wreath
Not the best pics but this started out as a dollar store woven wreath. Also from the dollar store I found a bag of red glass beads. I hot-glued the beads all over the wreath (front and sides.) Then wrapped with some black & white ribbon and finished off with some artificial cherry blossom petals. (Yes, all of these too were bought at dollar store.)
The only problem I found with the finished product was the weight. The glass beads make for one seriously heavy wreath. I couldn't hang the wreath with the ribbon as I had planned so I took my wreath hanger and just covered it with the ribbon for the same effect.
